Our Yoga classes

Hatha Yoga

The original form of Yoga including the practice of postures (asana) and breathing exercises (pranayama), which can help prepare the body for meditation. The pace of the class is quite gentle and will involve holding various positions in stillness for a certain amount of breaths.

Vinyasa Flow Yoga

Linking the movements with the breath is called Vinyasa. This is one of the most popular styles of yoga and is called ‘flow’ because of the smooth way the poses run together. Attention is focused on alignment and transition between poses, leading to improved stamina and flexibility.

Yin & Yang Yoga

Blending two styles of yoga into one practice. Bringing together the benefits of the passive, restorative poses with the active, more dynamic sequences. By practicing Yin and Yang we are able to create a balance and learn about stillness in movement and the flow within the stillness.

Healthy (options) Hips

Mobilise and strengthen your hips by working systematically through a group of exercises. Increase your range of motion by exploring gentle and dynamic movements to provide deep release and alleviate any tension and tightness in your body.

Yin Yoga

A complimentary practice to the more active (Yang) styles of Yoga. Yin consists of a series of more passive poses held for anything up to 10 minutes. Spending a longer amount of time in each posture targets the deep connective tissue and fascia, improving flexibility and circulation, ending with a deep sense of peace and openness.

Joint Freeing Series

An all levels practice involving 21 poses to help increase muscle strength by slowly progressing through a range of motion of the joints. Help yourself free the tensions and emotions blocked or hidden between the joints, relieving aches and pain related to the ankles, knees, hips, back, shoulders, wrists, neck and even the fingers and toes. The focus is on warming up the joints to maintain and improve the mobility and range of motion in the joints whilst also integrating a calm and mindful breath. (Please give the teacher your email address if you would like a handout)

Restorative Yoga

This is a form of yoga that emphasizes relaxation and rejuvenation. It is a restful practice that involves holding postures for longer durations using props to support you. When the body enters a state of relaxation, the mind can also consciously relax as tension is eased from both body and mind, coupled with deep breathing to calm the nervous system.

Fascial Release Yoga

Yoga for fascia release offers a holistic approach to improving flexibility, reducing stiffness and enhancing an overall wellbeing. Utilising the pressure of tennis balls, our breath and small somatic movements, we can release tension, encourage relaxation and create more freedom in movement.

Ashtanga Yoga

A more vigorous practice combining a fixed series of asana, synchronised with the breath. Starting with repetitions of Sun Salutations, followed by a standing and a seated sequence. This style emphasises both the mental and physical flexibility and strength.

Yoga Nidra

Known as a form of subconscious relaxation, Nidra encourages a state of mind between sleep and wakefulness. This 30 minute class involves lying down comfortably, with the use of props in complete stillness whilst listening to the instructor guide you through a meditation. It’s said that half an hour of Yoga Nidra is equivalent to four hours of deep sleep!

Meditation

Meditation is a state of mind, a practice to enter a highly conscious state where spiritual growth and awareness can begin. Traditionally practiced seated, the aim is to bring the body and the mind to the same place at the same time. Focussing attention on the physical, mental and energetic experience though breath work, voice activation, guided practice and silence.

Our Pilates classes

Classical Pilates

A fantastic class for people of all fitness levels based on Joseph Pilates six principles of exercise: Breathing, Centering, Concentration, Control, Flow and Precision. Using correct form and alignment to build physical and mental strength, this is a truly holistic approach to exercise and movement.

Mobility Pilates

Mobility refers to our range of motion in our joints and the strength of our muscles to be able to move through that range comfortably and with control. Exercises will target and build stability and strength in and around the spine, shoulders, hips and knees. Using the weight and resistance.

Fitness Pilates

Pilates as we know and love it, but with a little spice! We will work though a full body sequence, upping the intensity with our pace, precision and persistence on each of the exercises! We will evolve the exercises by adding repetitions, pulses and isometric holds to really turn up the heat!

Barrelates

Barre focuses on calisthenic, body-weight lifting movements to provide a high-intensity and high repetition, yet low-impact full body workout. Taking the best of what Barre has to offer and combining it with the precision of Pilates. Let’s burn to the beat in this fun, dynamic class!

Protect Pilates

This class is mindfully designed to help you gain all the benefits of the Pilates practice whilst being gentle on your joints, specifically limiting impact or strain on common orthopaedic ‘problem areas’ such as wrists, knees and hips. A great class for anyone suffering from injuries.

Restorative Pilates

This class focuses on stretching and lengthening the body, developing mobility and flexibility. Think slow, think stretchy and come and find your breath in a class that will encourage you to listen to your own body, find your own pace and work to you own level.

Functional Pilates

This class aims to enhance your simple day-to-day movements! Combining calisthenic exercises and a combination of props, including small weights, resistance bands, magic circle and small Pilates ball, we will correct our form and posture to strengthen the muscles truly needed for daily life.

Power Walk Pilates

Start with a Pilates warm up at the beach front, take a powerwalk along the promenade, enjoying the view, then finish back on the Wildwind lawn for a cool down and chat. This class is a sociable way to enjoy some of the basic movements Pilates has to offer, plus it will get the heart rate up!

A unique class designed to condition your whole body. This is a fun, challenging ball-based fitness class that will help to develop core stability, balance and agility and test your limits! Sequences of upbeat cardio are combined with slow, controlled exercises, reshaping the body and burning fat.

Just as boxers do, you should expect to improve strength, speed and agility. No previous experience necessary.

Functional Free Weights

Using dumbbells to perform compound exercises that work multiple muscle groups. Build strength, flexibility and balance by replicating and practising functional, every day movements such as squatting, pulling, pushing, twisting and bending. Create a strong body to handle the chaos of life!

Mobility Challenge

Train harder, recover faster, and perform better! This session optimizes movement and performance by increasing the range of motion within your joints and surrounding muscles. We will use a variety of dynamic stretching and fun challenges to discover and stretch your limits.

Run Club

This social run is for mixed abilities, we generally aim for around 5km but shorter and longer options can be worked out en route. The terrain can be a road or track or sometimes a mixture of both. We’ll show you the area and introduce you to a run route so your own pace is always respected.

Aquafit

Looking for a fun way to exercise? Aqua is full of laughter and suitable for all using the natural buoyancy and resistance of water to create a challenging workout that won't put excessive strain on your joints. Including a variety of aerobic exercises to get your heart pumping too! Weather dependent.
